Tiny space probes--capturing images hundreds of miles from their targets and yielding eye-opening discoveries--remind us how little we know about our solar system.
In the last few weeks, NASA has released information about several of the planets around us. One of the most startling discoveries was made by the Cassini space probe, which has been orbiting Saturn for four years. It spotted geysers on one of Saturn's moons that spew ice more than 100 miles from Enceladus' surface. On March 12, Cassini will take a closer look at the geysers, and probably even travel through the tops of them. The probe will venture about 120 miles above the moon to examine the geysers and then wind up about 30 miles above the moon's surface before speeding away.
Scientists say it's possible to see liquid water, even an ocean, on the surface of the small moon.
