The High Resolution Imaging Experiment camera on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has found evidence of a once-habitable ancient lake on Mars. At a place called the Holden Crater, scientists found exposed lake deposits and ancient megabreccia--large rock fragments embedded in a matrix of sand or clay--which contain minerals that indicate the presence of water. And where there's water, there could be life.
