This shot, out the window of a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 getting ready to take off from Oakland International Airport on a flight to Salt Lake City, shows a gorgeous sunset just coming up in the western sky. This flight went off without a hitch, but in March, many Southwest passengers found their flights cancelled after the airline abruptly pulled many of its planes--Southwest flies only 737s--in order to do rapid maintenance inspections to make sure they had no cracks in their fuselages.
