The Cassini spacecraft, which has been studying Saturn for almost four years, has detected a giant electrical storm that has been raging since November. It's no Great Red Spot, a storm on Jupiter that was first discovered centuries ago, but it is the longest-lived storm that has been tracked on Saturn.

The left image is how the storm would look to the human eye, while the one on the right has been enhanced to sharpen the details.
