In 1961, MIT students Peter Samson, Steve Russell, J.M. Graetz and Wayne Wiitanen designed Spacewar!, believed to be the first video game, on a DEC PDP-1. The game is played on the display of the PDP-1, as seen at the "Startup" exhibit at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History.
