CNET News.com reporter Daniel Terdiman has been traveling through the Southwest for the last three weeks on Road Trip 2007, and much of the last week or so has been spent in Arizona and Utah at jaw-dropping canyons of one type or another. So, News.com decided to present some of the best Arizona and Utah have to offer and let you make up your mind of what's the most awe-inspiring.
Pictured is Arizona's Canyon de Chelly, a nearly 84,000-acre national monument in the northeastern part of the state. It is entirely on the Najavo Reservation, though it is administered by the National Park Service. The canyons--the park is actually comprised of five: Canyon del Muerto, Black Rock Canyon, Canyon de Chelly, Monument Canyon and Bat Canyon--were formed by erosion of sandstone and igneous rock caused by the local rivers and streams.
