For people who don't want their plastic baggies contributing to plastic pollution in the oceans, the Wrap-N-Mat might be a good alternative. The reusable, washable sandwich bag fastens with Velcro and opens to double as a 13-inch square placemat worthy of a picnic. The key material is food-safe PVC, without the harmful chloride, according to the company. The bag uses vegetable-based dyes.

Some Wrap-N-Mats are made in the United States. But the company claims that its manufacturing facilities in China follow guidelines similar to those of the Fair Trade Association.
