Tersano introduced a $40 household mop that cleans floors using nothing but tap water. First, the water must be treated in the $150 Lotus water sanitizing system. A water-filled capsule fits into the mop, which squirts water onto floors and scrubs them with a gentle pad. The water purifier, sold in major chain stores, is billed as 50 percent stronger and 3,000 times faster than chlorine.

Its ozone sanitizer and carbon filter remove contaminants including chlorine, bacteria, viruses, and heavy metals, while leaving beneficial minerals behind, according to the company. The treated water can clean fruits and vegetables as well as stains on carpets and countertops.

CNET News.com's Michael Kanellos tested out the Lotus Sanitizing System a while back. See his take on the device (and how well it handled his cat's puke) here.
