The economizer system regulates the flow of air to and from the outdoors. Temperatures within Silicon Graphics' new labs were so cool at one point that workers bundled up in jackets, said Tim Kraus, facilities manager at Silicon Graphics.
"The systems liked it, but people don't," he said.
But tweaking the economizer system has enabled the company to raise the temperature closer to a comfortable 70 degrees, Kraus added.
