AOL catches up on Hollywood gossip

America Online and Telepictures Productions on Thursday launched TMZ.com, a Web site with celebrity gossip and news. Named after "thirty mile zone" around Hollywood, the Web site covers news on celebrities, movies, music, television shows and video games. It also features interviews, blogs and a library of celebrity pictures and video.

"Our resources and news gathering expertise combined with AOL's audience reach will make TMZ.com a force from day one," Jim Paratore, president of Telepictures Productions, said in a statement.
