Blinkx to expand video search

  • Print
Blinkx, a desktop and Web video search engine, has agreed to a deal with iFilm, an online destination for video entertainment and short films. The agreement gives Blinkx the authorization to index and search over iFilm's collection of content for playback. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The partnership builds on numerous recent dealings in the video search business. Google, Yahoo and America Online are jockeying to build comprehensive multimedia search enginees by inking deals with content providers such as iFilm, AtomFilms, Reuters, CNN, Fox and PBS.
