Cisco Systems Chief Executive John Chambers said on Thursday that he sees the U.S. economy "coming in for a soft landing."

In an annual meeting with shareholders, broadcast over the Web, Chambers also said the global economy was very strong and that he was comfortable with the company's recent growth forecasts. He also said Cisco would pay a dividend at the "right point in time," and that shareholders probably want the company to invest and buy back shares for now.
