Oslo, Norway-based Fast Search & Transfer is set to unveil on Monday a new suite of search- and marketing-based software designed to help media Web sites reclaim some of the ad dollars now going to search engines and other sites.
FastMedia incorporates a variety of software, including the new Featured Content application, which provides a way for media companies to showcase and package related content and to mine search and Web logs to look for Web site visitors who might be interested in premium or print subscriptions. Other software in the package lets companies offer things like advanced multimedia search functions, mobile search and contextual advertising.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for media companies to take back control of their customers and their advertisers," said Sue Feldman, an analyst at IDC.
