Compaq Computer, which recently moved to acquire Shopping.com in a cash bid worth about $220 million, just drove a harder deal. Compaq announced it was lowering its original $19 per share offer to $18.25 per share. Compaq said it renegotiated the price after Shopping.com disclosed additional information, including information regarding the number of shares of common stock. Shopping.com's board endorsed the new offer and recommends that its shareholders accept it.
