Salesforce COO leaves for Web start-up

  • Print

Phill Robinson has left the Salesforece.com to lead a Web start-up. Robinson had been with Salesforce since 2003 and occupied several senior positions on the executive team of the company, which specializes in software-as-a-service customer relationship management, or CRM. Robinson's roles at Salesforce have included chief marketing officer and then chief operating officer of sales and distribution. He will now take over as CEO of CacheLogic, an online content delivery company.

In his last role at Salesforce, Robinson was responsible for ongoing development and delivery of its sales strategy. Before that, as CMO, he dealt with the fallout after the company suffered service outages. CacheLogic provides content network delivery services for rich online media such as video on demand. Salesforce did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Natasha Lomas of Silicon.com reported from London.
